In July 2005 Earl and I decided to share the ownership of a Caterham 7. After much searching this is what we came up with.

Earl needed a name for her. So, she is very fast, looks gorgeous, carries no excess weight, is a good deal older than she looks, has a beautiful paint job, a spectacular body, is very attractive to older men, and goes like stink...... Nancy (Dell'Olio) it was!

As is the way with Caterhams, very little is standard. She has a 2 litre Ford Zetec engine developing 197 bhp, and with a weight of 509 Kg, that is around 400 hp/tonne.

This is motorbike territory rather than car, and it feels like it.

So, what are we going to do with Nancy?

Well, one thing is certain, although she is road legal, it would be very difficult to drive her on the roads and keep one's licence for long. Three digits come up on the speedo with terrifying rapidity.

We don't know for sure (yet) but 0-60 is looking like sub-5 seconds.

The answer is track days. We are going to have a lot of fun on the race tracks of England. We have a trailer to transport her, and if any friends would like to have a ride, let us know.

If you would like to see some more pictures use the menu at the top to see what happened on various track days.
